  4. A recommended formula for your garbo.uwasa.fi upload announcements

  7. This is file is garbo.uwasa.fi:/pc/UPTEXT.INF.  Please see
  8. garbo.uwasa.fi:/pc/UPLOAD.INF for our full upload instructions,
  9. including a sample session on how to upload.

  11. Please remember to email your MsDos upload announcement to
  12. pc-up@uwasa.fi.  (For Windows uploads use win-up@uwasa.fi, for Unix
  13. uploads use unix-up@uwasa.fi, for the rare QL uploads use
  14. ql-up@uwasa.fi, and for Mac uploads please use mac-up@uwasa.fi).

  16. This format below is intended as a helpful guidance.  You are not
  17. compelled to use this, or to fill in each and every item.  E.g.
  18. uploaders of updates of programs by other authors might find this
  19. too cumbersome.  (For example, I am not using this format for my own
  20. announcements).  But if you are the original author, this might be
  21. of use to you as an outline.

  23. If you are submitting a scientific paper, please naturally write an
  24. abstract of your submitted paper as the description in the format
  25. below.

  27. You must use a descriptive subject header in your email when you
  28. send your upload announcement to us.  If the subject is missing in
  29. your emailed announcement, I am afraid that we are compelled to
  30. decline your upload, since it will cause too much confusion in our
  31. long announcement queues.

  33. Please indicate clearly if you are the original author of the
  34. program(s).  In the case of submitting a scientific paper you must
  35. to be the author (or one of the authors) or have his/her unequivocal
  36. authorization.

  39. drawing up this format.

  41. The format for MsDos uploads below is in two parts.  First with
  42. comments, then without them to act as your base if you wish to.

  47. (The file name should preferably have a version number, and if it is
  48. an update, it must.  No two different renditions, however small the
  49. difference, are allowed to have equivalent names at garbo. 
  50. Furthermore if the name is extremely common like rm.zip you must
  51. make it more unique like I would use rm_ts10.zip in this example).

  81.         (Put here any preconditions on the distribution. The most
  82.         common are geographical limitations, eg. for North America
  83.         only, and limitations on redistribution on CD-ROMs. Due to
  84.         recent trends, this item must be included!)

  87.         (Answer Yes if the software is restricted so that it
  88.         essentially cannot perform the task it was designed to do:
  89.         e.g. word processors that cannot save files, restricted data
  90.         size, communication prog with limited time communication,
  91.         calculators with a highly limited set of functions in
  92.         comparison with the full version, etc.)

  96.         more than once, or if it requires the user to type in more
